Our Easy Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Get a free in-home consultation

No two jobs are the same, which is why we start your project with a personal in-home consultation. We’ll answer your questions, evaluate the state of your exterior house paint, and advise you on available paint options. Then we’ll provide a comprehensive written estimate with paint info, cost, and schedule on the spot.

Step 2: Plan

Once you’ve signed a service agreement, you’ll have the option to work with our professional colour consultant as a complimentary service. This is much more than just an digital color viewer that shows how your home will look in various different colours. Our consultant will advise you on how to build a unified colour palette that not only makes you the envy of neighbours, but also increases the long-term resale value of your home.

Step 3: Design

This is where most paint jobs make or break it. Improper surface preparation is the leading cause of premature paint failure (click to view our Paint Problems Gallery). Our approach includes power-washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, and masking if required. We’ll also protect all doorways, shrubbery, and outdoor furniture from dripping paint. If the surface has been power-washed, we will give it adequate drying time – a critical step that is frequently ignored.

Step 4: Build

Now it’s time to paint. We’ll arrive on time with the painting crew and equipment. If specified, we’ll prime the surface to ensure proper adhesion of the paint. We’ll start painting trim and windows frames, followed by the stucco or siding using an airless sprayer or brush/roller depending on what’s needed. We’ll apply two coats for a evenly-coloured, long-lasting finish.

Step 5: Cleanup & Walkthrough

Once the painting is done, it’s time to clean-up by sweeping, bagging and disposing of any leftover materials or mess. If you are getting exterior renovation work done by us (such as decking, driveway/pathway repair, or window/door replacement), we’ll ensure everything is properly coordinated. You’ll then do a walkthrough inspection with your project manager to note any areas of concern and answer any questions about maintenance. Your project manager will leave you with a tidy binder with invoice, warranty, product/maintenance tips and contact information for future reference.

Step 6: Proactive Follow Up
